My first journey to success – Power 90 Fitness Program P90

I decided to start my journey to live life for success by getting myself into shape. I have pretty much always been “husky”, even when I was in the army. My weight has been as high as 260lbs but seems to be hovering around 240lbs lately. And while I dont think you should measure your progress by your weight ( because muscle weighs more than fat; a 250lb weightlifter is in better shape than a 200lb desk jockey ), I want to get myself down to about 200lbs. Thats 40 pounds i intend to lose, while also getting myself into better shape.

The generic consensus is that 2-3 pounds a week is a safe amount to lose. I think I will be losing more than that, especially in the beginning weeks when my body is being shocked due to not having done exercise in years. However, If I only lose the safe 3 pounds per week during the 90 day program ( approx. 12 weeks ) I will almost achieve my goal of 40 lbs of weight loss.

I’m sure most people have heard of the latest fitness sensation of the P90x program. I have researched and found tons of satisfied users with awesome stories to tell and pictures to show. That program is actually based upon the Power 90 program ( P90 ) and takes it a step further. I have decided to start my journey with the Power 90 program because I feel my body is just not ready for the intensity required for the P90x program. For one, I cannot do any pull ups which are a part of the exercise program. I want to start with a program that is more for a newcomer but still will provide the results I’m looking for. Don’t underestimate the P90 program because it is the program that the P90x is actually based off of. I will be ordering this program this week and hope to be getting started as soon as the last week of June.

Once I begin my journey to live life for success with my body, I will try to keep you guys up to date at least once a week with my progress.
